The Commandor 64 is making a comeback. Can you image crunching on one? http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_Home.aspx |

The Commandor 64 is making a comeback. Can you image crunching on one? Commandor 64 or the Commodore 64? lol just poking....I bet the Commando 64 would really kill some work units. Maybe I'll even buy the Osama printer to go with it, oh wait it just oozes ink though. Too soon? Seriously though the new one doesn't look bad for someone needing something smaller than a tower though. 3GB of ram, atom dual core processor, and the ION2 chipset. Plus it's got all the card readers you would need and the dvd/blu ray drive. Would probably make for a nice media center pc with network attached storage! There are a few guys here crunching on Atoms, they are slow but not bad as a side cruncher. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Had a C64 once upon a time, don't anymore. Do still have a Amiga 500, so I'm just wondering why they call the new Amiga for Amiga?? |

The Commandor 64 is making a comeback. Can you image crunching on one? I have a friend that is from Bulgaria and periodically waxes about how good the Commodore 64 was. I think he still has a bunch of games for the original. |

I still have my Commodore 64 and my Commodore 128. They both still work! I had to get a replacement disk drive for them. Found 2 of them on EBAY. Luckily I still have all of my games. |

Look to the left to see my first computer... Also had C64 and C128. Finally gave in and got a 286 PC when Amiga became a dying breed. P.S. I work for an electronics recycler. I see all kinds of old systems come through. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

LOL... as far as number crunching today goes, no, I don't think so! :-D But back in the day when they were getting phased out of production and you could pick one up dirt cheap, I was working for a guy who bought one and developed what actually was released as a commercial product as an analytical/QC instrument based on the C64's general hardware and software platform. IIRC, they eventually sold enough of 'em so the whole project was at least break even financially. I guess that says something about what how good it was back then! ;-) |
