Now my upload speed is faster than my download speed was with Verizon.

Isn't it nice? It's great for VPN stuff and remote desktop support.

In Australia we are waiting breathlessly for the rollout, total, of what is called NBN, National Boradband Network, which is paid for by us citizens, taxes, sold by the Gov business, special NBN company, Gov owned, NBNCo to wholesalers who sell it to us taxpayers. It's fibre optics but its going to be expensive, and is already obsolete with the advent of Ipads etc'
I just wish you luck, as we are kind of shivering with the 40 billion buck bill.

Well I have just checked again on the BT Infinity website to see when I can expect the same speeds as Chris.

Still says 30 June, however if I go to the "Exchanges converted" page it states mine was done in January and you can order Infinity now. I can't however because as soon as I put in my phone number or postcode is offers me what I already have.

Looks like I will have to stick with this for a while longer.

Still faster than 56% of the UK :-)

Not the next generation broadband speeds, but a major boost in remote rural broadband speeds (but not for gamers).

I recently got off the telephone to a 2 way satellite broadband supplier and it looks like I should be able to buy a package next month giving 8Mbps down/2Mbps up and a usage of 8GB per month all for the same price I give to Demon (my ISP) and BT (my Teleco).

No increase in broadband monthly outgoings @ £40
