Verizon FIOS -- 25Mb/25Mb. My only problem is with servers that still transmit at a slow speed.

This probably isn't fair since this is at school (Colorado School of Mines) near Denver. The school has a gigabit link to the world. My home was closer to the other Comcast posts and I will rerun tonight and post that too.

After many years with Verizon DSL and being in the bottom 1% of the US in speed I changed to Comcast as my ISP

Now my upload speed is faster than my download speed was with Verizon. Isn't it nice? It's great for VPN stuff and remote desktop support. ____________ Linux laptop uptime: 1484d 22h 42m Ended due to UPS failure, found 14 hours after the fact

In Australia we are waiting breathlessly for the rollout, total, of what is called NBN, National Boradband Network, which is paid for by us citizens, taxes, sold by the Gov business, special NBN company, Gov owned, NBNCo to wholesalers who sell it to us taxpayers. It's fibre optics but its going to be expensive, and is already obsolete with the advent of Ipads etc'

Well I have just checked again on the BT Infinity website to see when I can expect the same speeds as Chris.

Bernie, my exchange was converted last December but we didn't get service until last week at plus 5 months. Knowing how big your town is I would say June is very likely.

Not the next generation broadband speeds, but a major boost in remote rural broadband speeds (but not for gamers).

There you go John, knew you could do better. You maybe in a rural community, but you aren't exactly in the middle of nowhere. Sounds promising.
