Just so every one knows why we love our north so much. This song is the work of Stan Rogers. He is no longer with us, but he will always live on in our hearts up here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVY8LoM47xI |

Get ready folks we are in for a big one! There is a big glop of matter coming at us from the sun right now, Impact is expected on June 24th at 0700 UT plus or minus 7 hours. When it gets here we will be treated to a show of shows. Even with the sky staying blue all night long, if there are no clouds there will be a show. Just think, for a few of us it will the first time in years that we will be able to really see what is going on. |

Nothing to report from N34° 32' 02.9", W112° (or -112° if you prefer) 28' 17.1". Guess I'm too far south. I do remember seeing them before I left Connecticut, though, several years ago and before that in the early 1970's when I was stationed in northern Maine. |

If this is a big one, we could see disruptions in the internet. |

If this is a big one, we could see disruptions in the internet. Also on power grids and telecommunications. See the link to the flare of 1859. Tullio |

The northern lights will just get stronger over the next two days. If you are up after sun-down, and you don’t live too far north, you may get a good show. People who live as far north as I do must put up with the sky staying blue all night long, making it harder to see the aurora in the summer time. |

A bit marginal here in the UK, but we certainly are enjoying the long evenings.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I just figured it out Rob; I see that in Britain you are below 60 degrees north latitude. With the off set in here in the position of the north magnetic pole to the west of the geographical North Pole it means you are missing out on Aurora that we can get here. This is even though you seem to be a bit north of our latitude. It looks like the magnetic pole is progressing more to the northwest as time goes on. Like anything to do with geophysics, no one knows what will happen next. Still for now if there are very strong displays you will get Aurora. I am sure you were just hanging on in anticipation waiting for this little tomb about the wonders of the planet we live on from me. |

I wonder what will happen when the 2 North poles will meet? If they do that is. Pole flip? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
