I do not believe that the programmer gave those options as possibile ways to do the file.
One by one is the only way!

This is the wrong forum

it's not a host file!

the IP Adress OR the hostnames, one by one, but NO range.

To be "clear", this file has to put to the boinc directory of every "to be monitored" client.

The file content is the IP Adress/Hostname of the monitoring station.

normaly U have one ore two of them.

U have seen this?

// if something is not mentioned, then it's not supported ;-)

as mentioned, please use this forum for Q:

Yes, but if that station connects with a dynamic ip/hostname, then it would be easier to allow an ip range.

Why would the hostname be dynamic? The name should stay static, shouldn't it?

I was thinking of dial-up internet connections, in most cases the hostnames are dynamically there.

Are you trying to use this on a home LAN or on a single workstation?

If you are putting BoincView on the same machine as the Boinc program, try using the IP address of 127.0.0.1

Even with dialup, you should be able to name your computer, thereby having a static host name.
