I read the earlier thread on signal 11 (may 2010) and understand that, but it does not seem to be my problem. I rarely see this, but today it came in a bunch. About the time I was closing down a VMware session (several virtual machines). Boinc is running native, not in a VM. Ubuntu 10.10 64bit. 12 cores. (linux reports 24 cpus, but that is normal when hyperthreading is turned on in the BIOS). Notice that Einstein (also always running) never hits a Signal 11. One time I had a problem like this I booted-into the memory-tester and ran memory tests 8 hours but no errors showed up. I generate almost exclusively good results. So it distresses to generate errors. Suggestions? |

More failures at 19:01 UTC Apr 25. No core files. Darn. The boinc user is not getting ulimit -c unlimited set. No messages in boincmgr about this. |

No records in /var/log (linux log files). Nor in /var/lib/boinc-client or its subdirectories (boinc logs are there) of failures or the tasks. Aside from rare older instances of Signal 15. That I can find. |

I generate almost exclusively good results. So it distresses to Try running the Optimised Linux apps, Arkayn has some combined packages made up on his site, just choose what flavour of SSE you require, and whether 32bit or 64bit, Claggy |
