Good morning, happy Easter & welcome back Debbie. ... Anyway, does anyone know if there is a cmd line to set BOINC to suspend? My idea is to add the line to a batch-file that I use to launch a game. Then there's no chance of science being lost due to computation errors during gaming (+ jerky framerates). |

Have you tried both <exclusive_....> Tags in cc_config.xml to stop crunching with the GPUs or CPUs or both if you start an specific Application like a Game? <exclusive_app>filename.exe</exclusive_app> BOINC will suspend computing whenever the executable is running (e.g., a game). Case is ignored in filenames. Multiple applications can be specified. <exclusive_gpu_app>important.exe</exclusive_gpu_app> BOINC will suspend use of GPUs whenever the executable is running. cc_config options Helli A loooong time ago: First Credits after SETI@home Restart |

And then there's boinccmd (the BOINC program directory needs to be in your path). Try boinccmd --set_run_mode mode duration set run mode for given duration mode = always | auto | neverThere should also be a command to suspend GPU processing only in newer versions than mine (5.10.45). Try boinccmd --help Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

This are my lines of doing it. A while back when boincmgr.exe and boinc.exe couldn't handle projects with a lots of download/uploads and workunits at the same time i couldn't even get boincmanager to do what i wanted because of the constant wait window appearing. That's why i needed a cmdline to suspend it. @ECHO OFF cd "c:\program files\boinc" boinccmd --host localhost --passwd xxxxxxx --project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu suspend EXIT Take care. Copying-&-pasting the above gives "authorisation failure -155" (obviously I put my password in). Any ideas? Did cd\program files\boinc before as well btw. |

It's alright I've done it. On a local host you don't need the host or password command. Also you only need to specify the project if you want to suspend that one project. Otherwise all projects will be suspended. You can read the full set of instructions here for all stuff you can do from the command line.
