I am signed on to about 5 projects, and I noticed that about a year ago I stopped getting seti units, I've tried updating, "do network communication", I've set my resource share to 300, everything else is 100. All my other projects seem to work fine, but not seti. Any ideas?

Below is my message log. The allow or No New Tasks button shows "No New Tasks" When I click it it shows "Allow new tasks" I have it in the fetch work units position. Thanks for the ideas,

Ok, firstly you didn't need to copy that many messages from your Messages tab. We got the idea after the first 30 lines or so.

Anyway, I noticed a few things. The item I highlighted in Blue shows you're connected to ClimatePrediction. Then the bolded text shows that you use local preferences that override any web-based preferences you've set (just informative in case you didn't know).

Two of those custom options are particularly important. I've highlighted them in red and green. Namely, you don't allow your compute to crunch while you're using the computer as indicated by the red. Last I checked, you can't manually ask for work if everything is suspended. The green indicates that BOINC is only allowed to run so long as nothing else on your computer exceeds 25% CPU usage.


All these clues add up to the fact that ClimatePrediction's workunits are so large, and your CPU time is so limited, that I bet BOINC is always crunching in "High Priority mode" and cannot get work from other sources otherwise.

When you open BOINC and you click on the Tasks tab, of the ClimatePrediction workunits that are running, over in the Status column, does it read "High Priority"?

Try to select all other projects and click [Suspend] on every one of them.
Then select SETI and click [Update]

I also notice that you have max CPU usage set too low as indicated by the constant messages about CPU Usage Too High. There is a setting that prevents BOINC from processing if the CPU usage for everything else exceeds a threshold. The default is 25% which is usually too low.

I just checked the only computer on your account and it says it downloaded an AstroPulse today. AstroPulse is still SETI@Home. Do you primarily get AP workunits and not recognize them as SETI@Home?


Also, if you go into your Project Preferences, you should see a section for "Run only the selected applications: SETI@Home Enhanced, AstroPulse v5, and AstroPulse v5.05" What are your settings for these? And the next option "If no for selected applications is available, accept work for other applications?", what is that set to as well?
