Celt--the stone is 2 centimeters in size Wow! That's a load, all right. Good Lord willing, there will be no complications, and Suz will be back to nearly normal real soon. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

What a mess. The soonest a surgeon will see her just for consult is April 25th. Then surgery may not be until May. The worst thing is unless she has a GB attack she's absolutely fine yet they want to keep her out until the 25th (and beyond). |

Heck it sounds like you live in Alberta; they are famous up here for wait listing people. What S^S said, avoid fatty foods. I don't like to scare you, but perhaps you should read up on some of the things a gall stone can do if it gets jammed in to the tube that goes to the duodenum. Can you lobby some how for faster service? A call to the local news paper to complain about the wait times people have to indure for help some times makes doctors hurry things up. It is an out side chance, but what ever works. Good luck! celttooth |

The kitties and myself shall keep sending good Karma your way. I will pray that she suffers no bad bouts with it until the doctor can finally see his way to do the surgery. It is an out side chance, but what ever works. The only way to get faster service is for her to have a full-on GB attack and then we'll go to the ER for emergency surgery. They say she's had it for a year and as long as she watches her diet she "should" be ok. |

Blurf.......................... From my entire family to you and Suz go our deepest prayers for the best outcome. My daughter had this surgery under emergency conditions, miss diagnosis etc. She is fine today and eats most anything in small quantities. And I seem to remember you kicked somebody's a** from that chair so I know your as tough as they come. Keep the faith and you will both be ok. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Blurf.......................... He's kicked MY ass. Don't matter where you sit if you are armed with a keyboard. Blurf is good folk. His wife Suz is good folk. It's wonderful that we can try to be here in our little way to support them both. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I appreciate all the support as does Suz. We are keeping this thread open. She mistakenly drank some Whole Milk earlier so she could react later....we are just in a real holding pattern right now. Work has cleared the way so whenever whatever happens I can simply leave work during a shift if need be with no writeup. |

Hi Blurf, Still sending good thoughts your way. I know what your wife is goiong through. Had my gallbladder taken out in 90. A nice cheesy pepperoni pizza did me in. She will feel so much better after its gone. Hang in there, we are all pulling for the both of you. [/quote] Old James |

Suz is pretty frustrated this morning. She feels like she could go back to work until the surgery or GB attack (whichever occurs first) but she's concerned that if she has another occurance (an occurance is leaving early or calling in sick...she has 3 occurances surrounding this whole incident) at work that she could lose her job. She is currently written out on disability by her doctor. She just left to see the original surgeon from the first surgery (she's OB/GYN only & can't perform the GB surgery) who we hope will realize that it was her error in not even considering the potential signs of a Gall Bladder issue and help us get her to a surgeon quicker. Guilt can be a powerful emotion. I told her to play it very subtly and not come out and slam the doctor and put her on the defensive. Updates later as I get them |

The surgeon from the original surgery REFUSED to call the surgeon who will perform the upcoming Gall Bladder surgery---just flat out refused. Found out that the Chief of Medicine at our major hospital was the guy who bought my father's practice on his retirement. Phone calls are being made. Business is about to pick up. |
