Message 1094122 - Posted: 6 Apr 2011, 23:08:54 UTC - in response to Message 1094112.

It is VERY painful and does take time to regenerate.

Ok, this is a choice I may have to make in the next year or so, I may be needing a new liver, so painful for the giver, or receiver?

Since I don't know, I'm going to guess both, Mines healthy I think, I do have swelling in My ankles and feet, But I'm told It's cause of My weight, Nothing more. They'd rather do an invasive and worthless look up My butt, No one in My entire family has ever had colon cancer, My brother had them look & they missed His Lung cancer(He was the only one to get that too, He was in the US Navy for 20 years as a Diesel Engineman, He retired at a pay grade of E9, Complete with Gold Stripes & Hash marks(Which He never wore as He wanted to be just one of the guys He said, Yes I miss Him)), than to check on anything else or to cut off the protruding abdomen which gets sweaty and has frequent painful red rashes as a result, like a baby does, Sorry It's the best that I can do.

Not to scare you but I've been told both--but if it saves your life the pain is worth it and can be managed.

Thank you for the info. I should say the pain I have now is one of the reasons why I can't work. I was hoping that the transplant would allow me to get in a year or so back at the salt mine before I turn 65.

Pain I can understand, legs, ankles, shoulder blades, right knee, The last one is killer, As I feel like the hunchback of notre dame when I climb the steps, Of course If one lives there, One is in-seine.

5pm EST Update: The situation is definitely being caused by gallstones. I don't know yet if they'll be handled surgically or not.

Good news, for sure. Hope they can get them with the ultrasonics - non-invasive is less likely to cause other problems.

Won't be done via ultra sonic Don. Surgery is mandated. We're waiting for a callback from a surgeon to schedule

Must be one heck of a stone in Suz, If Ultrasonic isn't going to blast It apart, Well as long as the surgery goes ok, You both are in My thoughts, Good Luck to Suz & You Blurf.

Thank you Rob and all...I am floating between emotional and exhausted but at least I'm at work. I am immensely grateful for the words of support.

According to Google that 2 centimeters = 0.787401575 inch, I'd rather go for Ultra Sonics, But that's just Me. Good Luck Blurf and Suz.

Actually that is really big for gallstones. There's also 4 others behind it so there's evidence that eliminating these ultrasonically won't stop them from reforming so we have no choice but to remove the gallbladder.

Best wishes. Friend had it done about a year and a half ago on Thanksgiving Day. He was up in a day and not much pain. Took a couple months for his gut to settle back into a normal rhythm.
