	I sometimes like to see a picture of where in the sky my work unit is coming from. I found this sky map online: http://www.sky-map.org/ It seems to work well enough, but I was curious if anybody here knew of any other good ones. Edit: It looks like Google Earth also has a pretty nifty sky map. You can download Google Earth here: http://www.google.com/earth/index.html Just switch to sky mode and you can easily search for the coordinates and it zooms in to that area of the sky. Pretty cool.

	They have a little Google sky map here on the SETI@home website that is theoretically supposed to show where in the sky the arecibo radio telescope is pointing when its recording data. On the front page of the website, select the "Science status" link; http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sci_status.html If the telescope is recording, its supposed to show where its recording in the embedded Google map. But to be honest, i'm not sure Matt Lebofsky ever got around to making it work properly. But it looks good anyway! John. ____________

	A couple of free planetarium applications I can recommend: Stellarium – does beautiful renderings, but has much more than ‘eye candy’ XEphem – runs under X11, many advanced technical features ____________
