I am trying to install an X1900xt card in my computer but am running into some issues. I have an Nvidia card geforce 8500 GT installed and running fine -it cunches my cuda work. I downloaded the catalyst control center but it does not seem to show up, all I get is the update manager no control center. Driver is defaulting to windows WDDM version and I cant get it to install the ATI drivers or the Catalyst control center. My computer is running Windows 7 ultimate x64 edition, power supply is 800w and plenty for what is needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

As of Catalyst Drivers 9.4 (April 2009), ATi dropped support for anything older than the Radeon HD 2000 series. You'll need to make sure you're using Catalyst 9.3 (March 2009) or older to support your Radeon X1900XT card. [Edit] It looks like they have a February 2010 update (Catalyst 10.2) located here. |

I am trying to install an X1900xt card in my computer but am running into some issues. I have an Nvidia card geforce 8500 GT installed and running fine -it cunches my cuda work. Did you d/l the whole of Catalyst 11.2 from AMD/ATI website? It installs something called update manager as part of the process for installing all the ATI goodies including drivers. It "should" install corectly even in the presence of an NVIDIA card, but maybe not. See my thread farther down about "Need Help with ATI cards" for some other problems with ATI as opposed to NVIDIA drivers. EDIT: Whoops, previous reply nails your problem, now if only mine could be fixed so easily. /EDIT |

Thanks for the help guys, turns out in my stupidness, the card was not properly seated and thus not working correctly. Installed 10.2 and now all working correctly. This thread is now closed |
