Thanks for asking the question Slavac as I was wondering the same thing. Open windows task manager > find lunatics that's running > right click > open file location > you should see app_info > right click app_info then select edit > edit instances as shown above > click save > restart Boinc (should've been closed during this process) > enjoy 3 CUDA apps at once. Thank you everyone sincerely for your help, mine's up and running! Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |

AI4FR, Keep an eye on yours. That 270 series driver has been causing trouble for quite a few people. You may need to roll back to the 266/267 series of drivers if you find you are running slowly. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Thanks perryjay. To be honest I would not know what is fast or slow. The two 580's whip through the work fairly quickly it seems. I do have them overclocked a little to 825mhz(core clock) and 2104mhz(memory clock). I could probably go higher and most likely will in the future. Right now they are running cool and stable. I had the computer CPU overclocked as well, but even with a low grade water cooler(H50) I did not like the temps which was in the high 170's and low 180's when the computer was doing work for SETI. I have since dialed it back some and now it stays under 150 degrees Fahrenheit. |

I have a 130w QX6700 that is being cooled by an H50 that runs at 2.66GHz 24/7, When the PC crunches Seti 177F or so is not unusual, But then It is a preproduction B1 65nm cpu that at idle can be running around the 50C mark, Running at load It's more like 81C or about 177F, but then I have a fairly hot and old cpu and It's not overclocked in the least. Thanks VW. I just built this beast about two months ago so that "newness factor" is still with me. Plus it is my main computer. As for the Corsair H50 water cooler, I have fans connected in a push pull configuration around the radiator. For those that might be wondering, the case is a cooler master HAF which has excellent air flow. |

Okay, what I meant was to keep an eye on the clock speed of the 580s. For some reason they have been seeing them downclock unexpectedly when using the 270 series of drivers. This will cause you to run work in about twice the time it should take. I believe it also causes the same problem in some games too if you are a gamer. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Yes I can confirm that the .61's are not ready for primetime in most applications. It only effects some games though and it seems the majority of DC clients. The .51's don't seem to have the same issue on most but does on some. The 266.58's are the safest to run still if you are uncertain or don't want to try it. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Quick question: Would a 750W power supply be adequate to running a 560ti (270ish watts under stress) in conjunction with a GTX 590? Toms Hardware suggests the 590 requires 437W under stress, which makes me wonder if my 750W power supply is up to the task if I decided to switch my 465 with a 590. Thanks guys. Ok, i have now a few Values more: Hey Helli: Why do 8 tasks on the 590 instead of 9? Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |

Quick question: No wouldn´t work. At least 950 Watt PSU required for this combination. I would go with 1050. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Quick question: From my experiences, my GTX260 use 3/4 of the max W usage if CUDA (not the whole card is used). In your case.. GTX560 Ti http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-560ti-us.html 170 W GTX590 http://www.geforce.com/#/Hardware/GPUs/geforce-gtx-590 365 W (at least 700 W PSU required) 128 + 274 = ~ 402 W if CUDA. And then all other stuff (CPU/mobo and so on..) Phenom II X6 1100T system - maybe ~ 200 W Then you would have ~ 602 W average usage. If they are manufacturer OCed, or you OC yourself, the W usage increase. Your PSU need at least 2x 6 pin (560) + 2x 8 pin (590) PCI power connectors. My machines are running ~ 50 % of the max of the PSU, so I would go with ~ 1.200 W PSU. - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - |

Hey Helli: AFAIK, 4 WUs/GTX5xx GPU is the max - (so 8 for GTX590 (2 GPUs)) - if enough VRAM available. They have 1503 MB VRAM (BOINC detect this with the current driver), I guess for each GPU.. 1216 MB/4 WUs - then maybe 1520 MB/5 WUs (which is 17 MB too much). The OS need also VRAM. - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - |

Ok, i have now a few Values more: Hi, i have tried 10 Workunits per GTX590 (5 per GPU) but the times were 30% higher (1930 sec. per WU). Memory usage was 1490MB per GPU (GPU Load 99%, Mem Contr Load 55%) . Helli |

Quick question: Thanks for taking the time to type that Sutaru :) I think to be safe I'm going to invest in a good new PSU before I upgrade to a 590. Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |

Ok, i have now a few Values more: Gotcha. After running the 590 for a few weeks, how are you liking it? Executive Director GPU Users Group Inc. - brad@gpuug.org |
