Well...
Spring is bespringing, the sun is shining brightly, the kitties are bouncing all over the place.....and it's that time again.

The Kitty Farm auction to raise donations for Seti.

For a little over the past year, I have been teammates with the wonderful bunch over at KWSN....NI!!! So, I have fulfilled my contract to them from last year's auction. They have been great.

Those of you who have been around a while may remember how this works.
I take pledges for donations to Seti on behalf of your team. You may submit them individually or designated a person on your team to gather them together. Does not matter. At the end of the auction, the team with the highest total in pledges wins the crunching power of the kitties for at least one year.

Once the donations are verified, I will join the winning team.
Those who have pledged but are not the winners are not compelled to follow through on their pledges, but in the past, many have done so anyway. No shame either way.

Noooooo....you are not 'buying the farm', so to speak. Or the kitties...LOL. Just the fine, hard-crunching services of the kitty farm. All proceeds go directly to Seti, of course...nothing goes through me.

The auction will end at the stroke of midnight, March 31, US time, CST time zone.

Any questions or clarification needed, just ask.

Get yer teammates together and pony up....you just might be the lucky winner!

NOW....
What am I bid for this fine bunch o' crunchers???

May the best team win.

Meow.

This might be a good place for a question that's been bouncing around my mind for awhile now. What exactly is the purpose of being on a specific BOINC team? It doesn't seem like it would affect productivity at all to join one. Personally I'm happy to be on Team Humanity and leave it at that.

There is no specific benefit to being on a Seti team......as far as your crunching goes.
Just general commeraderie, competition, and bragging rights.....that sort of thingy.

Respect for the bid since your production is far beyond that of our entire country (*)

*) so there wouldn't be any chance of staying ahead of you guys anyway ;) (and I did calculate for the possibilities for our team to stay third.. I did, I really did ;) ).

Yes, it's past midnight on the 31st....
I spaced last night when I came home tired from work.
I have been working 6 days a week instead of my usual 4, and somehow had it in my head that today was the day.

GPU User's Group is the official winner of the auction, both currently, and yesterday at the previously announced end time.

I do appreciate the bids from the fine folks at KWSN, they have been a good bunch to crunch with for the last year. You, of course, are not beholden to make the donations offered, as you did not win the auction. That is up to you.

The kitties will be making the team change soon.

Hiya, GPUsters!

Meow meow.

Indeed! Good luck in many ways. Not in the last place to get to the first place of teams worldwide! The position changes are more then impressive!

And that for a team of less then 100 members that would be in the top 5 producing countries if you guys lived in the Country "GPU" ;)
