This is just in on the News, Tokyo, Japan was just hit with an 8.8 Earthquake and a 6.4 aftershock, plus a tsunami too.

CBS in Los Angeles says the Quake is an 8.9, Sounds pretty danged BIG.

The Tsunami was 13' deep at least and the earthquake came from over 6 miles down and off shore too.

There is the Possibility of a Tsunami wave hitting the US, Currently It's only a Watch, Mainly Hawaii for the moment, This is most likely very real and would be no drill.

There's an oil refinery in Japan that's on fire and Japans 5 Nuclear Power Plants are scrammed(Shut down). They mention the Sentai area.

It's now mentioned that the Tsunami wave is 30' tall and It hit on Japans North East Coast...

Wow! I'm glad I'm inland. Hopefully the causalities wasn't too high.

Hawaii is evacuating now, People are heading for high ground. Sirens are sounding and their expecting 1(3.28')-5(16.4') meters of water.

Pray for the folk along the coastline I guess and just hope loss of life, if any, is at a bare minimum. Given the close proximity of the epicentre the reality is that they would not have had much time at all to respond. I mean, tsunamis are pretty rapid movers.

3' tall waves to hit California Fox said.

San Francisco 8:16am
Santa Barbara 8:24am
Santa Monica 8:38am?

Fox had this up on screen, I typed what I could, As they mentioned a 4th city that I couldn't get, I'm just not fast enough a typist.

Their advising people to stay away from the Ocean, Sounds like good advise to Me.

Japan from what Fox said had 30 minutes, There are warning Buoys out in the Pacific to help give warning of approaching waves.

This is crazy. Their saying ships should head out to deep water to ride out any of the tsunami waves as It's not just one wave.

Here the quake shows as an 8.9, In Japan the Quake is a Magnitude 8.4, They use a different scale.

The reason they say that is the wave is a shock wave moving through the water. as it approaches land it starts raising up as the sea bed rises until it strikes land. We all know what happens then. Deep water is the only really safe place during a tsunami since it, according to witnesses and scientists, is barely noticeable at sea.

On the mark skildude. In deep water a tsunami may only raise the water level a few inches or even a couple of feet. But the period of the wave, from high point to low point can be measured in miles. So your ship may only go up then down 10" over a 3-4 minute period of time. You would not even notice.

My prays to the people of Japan.
