Two days ago, I shut my ubuntu system down for minor maintenance (cleaning filters) When I rebooted, I got an error message that grub could not find my drive to boot it. I pulled out that drive, and reinstalled 10.10 amd-64 on another drive. Today, as a trial to see what would happen, I re-installed the messed up drive and ran update-grub. Found the drive, rebooted, and got access. I have a bunch of seti and einstein wu's on the drive I reinstalled. Is there any to transfer them to the newly installed version of 10.10 as I really do not trust the drive I replaced? robby-8550 |

Note that if you are currently running SETI on the new OS, you cannot simply merge the two BOINC data folders. |

Note that if you are currently running SETI on the new OS, you cannot simply merge the two BOINC data folders. I have done nothing re SETI on the new drive. OS is the same. I will try to do a locate on the original drive to find the data files. Question is, if I find them, should I install BOINC, then transfer the data files, or do the transfer first. I would hate to loose the WU's, as some have a due date of 3-17-2011, and some on 3-22-2011. These that have these close dates are all Einstein WU's, all of my SETI WU's are in April. |

Question is, if I find them, should I install BOINC, then transfer the data files, or do the transfer first. Search for client_state* and transfer the complete directory tree first, then install; but you should check the permissions nevertheless, as arkayn suggested. Gruß, Gundolf |
