I have a new laptop that replaced an old one that was turned in. Is there any way in SETI to change that name of the old laptop to my new one so I can merge the two together? Thanks! |

Try if "the other" merge method works: go to the details page of one of the computers and scroll to the bottom, there's the "Merge duplicate records of this computer" link. That will work if there are no overlapping usage times. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

Thanks Gundolf! I gave that a shot with both the old PC and the new one but it states "no hosts are eligible"....??? |

Then merging by name might be the way to go anyhow. The place to change the name is not SETI though, but windows. However, why do you want to merge the database entries anyway? They are from different computers, after all. Gruß, Gundolf |

which is the point i was going to make. Unless the computers are very similar then renaming them wont work. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

The old PC had several years of data on it so I was just thinking of combining the numbers with the new PC. Thanks to both of you for responding!! |
