Jeepers,

Would this be the old town castle in Sana'a, in the Yemen,
built in the 1930's?

Uugh...in my mind comes Sand, Arabia, Sheikh, Emirates Palace...looks like it is one House.

Is this a kind of a Palace?

Helli

You're on the right track for the location. Yes, it is a palace.

Ahhhhhh, I just can't stand it.
In keeping with palatial accommodations.

This is known all over the country as one of our
higher status places where people meet.
I might add this place is known in only the finest
of scientific circles.

You must use the real name of the place, not the nick name.

Some call it the Zoo, but of course I would never go in to a place like that so how could I know.

This is a very special place in the world of climate, and biology
When I studied undergraduate geography at school I used this place for one of my lab reports it was so special. I got an A, and the teaching assistant took me to dinner.
You must get the name of the place.
celttooth
First hint; it is north of the Equator

Celttooth if that is salt water it has a big tidal bore, so Ill guess somewhere in the Bay of Fundy where all those Scurvy Notions live.

A more specific guess for an island in the Bay of Fundy would be Grand Manan island, on the New Brunswick shore.

scurvy Notions
====================
That's the place. It is a very long way from Banden Oregon?
Again we are back in the place that God made first.
Where the water is salt, and the tides are very, very high
