Just like after the hung election of 1999 you Americans have shown your love of freedom, and your trust in the voting system. As it was then there is no rioting in the streets, and people aren’t out burning cars, or fighting with riot policemen. In other countries like Egypt or Libya people take to the streets to toss out their dirty criminal politicians such as your bent governor. I would think that like in Russia your elected officials enjoy some sort of immunity from criminal prosecution.
Here in Canada it is very hard to prosecute a member of parliament if they get caught breaking the law. We have a former member who I believe was a cabinet minister who it seems was caught with cocaine, while driving his car, or some such thing. Even the judge was heard to say “You must know how big a break you are receiving.”(The man then paid a fine.) There was even a case where a former prime minister was found to have taken two or three hundred thousand dollars in bribe money. This man was even able to avoid tax problems.
I expect your dirty governor will not only escape charges, but this episode may very well get him elected president. I would think not having unions will be the least of your problems.
Very interesting times indeed.
