Yeah I still have an 8800 to send back to eVGA for replacement. That will help a lot once I get it back, was hoping to send it off today but got tied up on other obligations. So maybe tomorrow! Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Not sure that the credit system is going to return to the previous levels. I have just had 6 AP tasks validated with the same wingman. He has done ~1000 AP tasks with the Lunatics app with nearly 200 consecutive valid tasks. So his details should be stable just like mine. The average granted is 684.123cr, which is ~100cr/task lower than the previous credit system. host 688149 Valid AP tasks |

I think Kolley has picked up something of the paranormal. I noticed his enormous RAC so I went to Boincstats to see if he's closing in on me in the Team standings. Blow me down if my computer didn't suddenly switch itself off in the middle of it! We're watching you, Kevin... It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it...
Anyway, appy-polly-loggies to Kolley, it was a failing power supply in the end. All fixed now. ...at a cost of £63...

With the month almost halfway gone my RAC is still dropping on one computer, hopefully soon it will reverse. I have gone from a high of nearly 5000 RAC down to 3500. I wonder if it maybe due to upgrading to the newer version when I was prompted? |

[ADDED] It appeared, a week ago I made about the same post, as I do now. ;^) Since I haven't changed anything which can have an impact on SETI Crunching. Maybe 1(part of a ) core extra for SETI (Q6600). And RAC is even higher, then before.(45K) Since I changed the (burnt 4850) and OK 5870, for a 470, which was on the host with an 480, already.(Still have to find a suited-mobo for 470 and 480, since they won't run in 16x mode, with both cards working, the same mobo does accept a 5770 and 5870 and runs then in PCI-E 2.0 @16x both cards!) Also still crunching GPUgrids Extra -long-8 to 12 hours on a fast card on my GTX480, only E@home has send little work. So, I can't say this is a bad credit calculation, seems to work OK. (Also just passed the 15Million Credit mark, for SETI!) |

I noticed my rac dropping the last few days. Just got the gumption to see why. I have a lot of shortys on both CPU and GPU. 1.5 hours for the CPU and 7 or 8 minutes for for the GPU. Not a lot of rac there. Pendings are getting ate up fast too. Down to 28,000. From 58,000 a week ago. I do have some AP units to do though. [/quote] Old James |

Maybe not a lot of credit per task, but an awful lot of tasks per unit time. RAC stands for Recent Average Credit - average over time, that is. If (rounded figures), I do, say, a shorty in five minutes for 30 credits, that's 12 tasks per hour or 240 credits per hour. If I do a longer WU in 30 minutes for 120 credits, that's two tasks per hour, but still 240 credits per hour. Same RAC (both figures approximated from my host 3755243) For your 'pending' comment, see the other threads round here about what's been going on with pendings since 08 March. |

Ähm...12 Tasks á 30 Credits are 360 Credits. ;-) Btw...i got a little more Credits/h if i do midrange Workunits insteed of shorties. 450/h for shorties, 500/h for midrange WUs. Helli A loooong time ago: First Credits after SETI@home Restart |

With my pending WUs slowly but steadily dropping, from a high of 50k with a little under 20k more to go, I'm finally back to where I was before the great crash of '10. MANY HAPPY DAYS OF CRUNCH'IN TO GO!!!! |

MANY HAPPY DAYS OF CRUNCH'IN TO GO!!!! It isn't that you have fewer pending tasks. It is more that "claimed Credit" is no longer being recorded in the database. So that list will not grow. See the thread tasks not in pending-credit-list where Richard & Josef pointed out what was going on. See the thread tasks not in pending-credit-list where Richard & Josef pointed out what was going on. So is the pending credit list going to be dropped? And, if so, how will we know what is out there in terms of non-validated credit or WUs? |

Not sure if it's going or not, it is kind of nice to see what kind of credits I have in limbo. However you can still check what work units you have that are pending it just won't give you credit count on it under your "tasks" in your profile. Just click it and then to pending. So I dunno hopefully one day it will magically start working again. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

I think I am not understanding a few things. I rejoined Seti@home after about a 12 year break. I do not understand the credits. Why there is average credits and total credits? I keep hearing about RAC and have no idea what RAC is or what it means or does? Where do you see RAC ? Can anyone take a moment to help me out. Not a math wiz here at all. So if you could use small math words and type slowly that would be great. |

sure merry. The total credits is the credits given, over time. Each work unit you crunch is calculated based on an elusive formula to give you X number of credits, and any bragging rights that might imply. The RAC is the "recent average credit" the number of credits over the past(60/90 days.. there are different formulas)divided by that number of days. This can give you an idea how well your computers are performing compared to others. Some spend a lot of time worrying about it, some do not. In order to post to the boards you need a RAC over 1. Did I miss anything? Janice |

Based on that are you able to see my current numbers? Can you tell me if my numbers would be considered good or bad or average based on what those that care believe or based on what you feel is good, bad, average ? The higher the RAC the better it is then ? |

Running stock apps, you should run around 12,000 RAC if you run 24/7 with both the CPU and GPU. I see. I just started a day or two ago. I haven't been running it full time as I wanted to see the load and heat on the system before I open up the flood gates. Thank you though for the info. |
