Skiing in July! The conditions weren't great, but it was fun anyway.

[Edit]: Oh, and happy Fourth of July.

Saturday used to mean a day of weekend fun, but lately there are more and more household projects to finish. But the skiing in July was fun, so I can't complain.

Skiing in mid July is a bit like having Christmas dinner on the dunes while being roasted by the sun - its so much better than sitting is a cold damp room watching the rain come down which the norm in the UK for both times of year...

Nearly all my Christmases are celebrated in above 80º F weather.

I/m getting dizzy watching the markets go up and down. Time to turn off the TV and get to those home improvement projects that I've put off for too long.

We have had (happily) a good amount of rain in the last few months, mostly at night (also happily). The last few years have been drier than normal with some areas suffering drought. They say it takes 25 years for rain falling today to filter through to the ground water, but with this rain people can turn off sprinklers and farmers will use less water, so the rain is welcome.

Well thats good. We've had our fair share of droughts, but this last winter really did a good thing to our water. I'm hoping for another good wet winter this year, keep our water supplies up.

Laptops are prone to heat issues when crunching. Probably best to set the preferences to run around 75% and monitor it closely.

It's a good, energy efficient Core i7. I have it set to crunch on all eight "processors" but soon it will be cut back to only four. As it is, the energy efficient settings shut the machine down when it is not being used, but I have been using it a lot during this period of loading software and learning about new features.

I am happy to report passing the 4M mark in SETI credits. It seems like this is a good time to give my machines a rest.

Whew! Made it to the weekend on a pretty good week for the markets. I hope this signals an upturn for the EU and the rest of the world economy. Whatever happens, it seems like it will happen slowly, which is unfortunate for those who are struggling.

You were right, Michael, but most of what we are seeing, whether up or down, is emotional rather than fact based.

Your correct their Qui' and emotions tend to reflect more in the markets when they go down rather then when they go up. When the true facts finally become known you watch the emotions run wild in these markets then.
