I ran 4 WU through on my iMac, averaged around 7:45 or so.

Used a beta build that Urs made.

Link Link please. In all seriousness how soon will there be a build on the Beta site for more testing? I have my Mac attached to beta waiting for some v7 for OSx to show up. Eric posted he hoped to post them on Monday of this week but nothing yet. I suspect he is busy fixing a bug in the Linux build that surfaced this week for v7. I know it is more important to fix bugs for released software than to release new software. I am hoping for more info from more plugged in folks than me.

I'm afraid Urs' build is in alpha at Lunatics.
As far as I see, that was a test build of V7 stock on OS X, mainly for speed comparisons and to check for errors prior to any optimisation work and to be withdrawn from use on beta as soon as Eric releases.

You will have to wait for the app Eric promised - and OS X being essentially a unix platform, he will want to sort out the bug(s)/problems on the linux end before releasing something that may contain the same bug.

I ran several 0.42 AR WU on 6.03 with a time around 15k seconds. I've had several v7 with an AR of 0.39 and they completed in 21k seconds. I dont think that small of an AR will matter enough to account for the 6k seconds of extra computation

Here are some unit completion times, depending on memory speed. All ran 8 at a time simultaneously on this host

If you look at the graphs Joe Segur and I did in Estimates and Deadlines revisited, you'll see some quite sharp discontinuities in processing times just below AR=0.415 - especially for the Opteron_275_Linux host I was monitoring, but I think the other core types and OSs showed it as well, to a lesser extent. Not saying you're not seeing a real effect, and one that might be exacerbated by the extra processing in v7, but I think it's a bit too early in the Beta (well, hardly out of alpha) testing cycle to be drawing conclusions here on the main message board.

Over at SETI@Home Beta, Eric is making progress with the setiathome_v7 Beta apps. New releases (on SETI@Home Beta) of the v7 apps, which will include more platforms, are in the pipeline.

probably with all the server reshuffles the script is pointing at the wrong thing.
I care about the tag about as much as I care for credit but I do wonder where to bugrep...

Setiathome v7 6.91 has been released, anyone running an app_info to limit their Beta work to v7 6.90 will need to remove it to get the new app,
(all old v7 6.90 work will get cancelled on the next request)

The Linux v7 6.91 app has already run into problems, there should be a v7 6.92 Linux app available tomorrow.

Absolutely not difficult, as even I can do it.......;^) And absolutely no excuse for not doing this.......
And ofcoarse have the time.........

I just installed the new V 7 Bêta(rev177 for ATI MB), already running ATI AP app. rev516 and do have 2 rigs, running Bêta app.'s.(v7.x)

An i7-2600 & 2 HD5870 are running 4x AP and 8x MB WU's, also optimized, SSSE3x.
(Although with current data_chunk_unroll=16, screen is quite sluggish,
screen lag, impossible to do anything with a frame rate higher then 2fps :(, but,
tomorrow, I'll try, yet other settings).

New application testing is http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/. You would make an account & attach it as you would another other project. Keep in mind it is for testing out applications so you may not get credit for work done & things of that nature.
