Nearly bedtime...
I just got home from finishing the Deb dress at the girl's house. It looks lovely, but I forgot my camera - she is going to give me a photo from her deb, which I will post for you all :-)

Are you still nervous about the dress Magenta, now the making is complete?

Not at all, John.
Stevie loved it, and it really fit her well. Her mum and sisters liked it heaps as well. I am glad I gave it a go - being something I had never done before - I was quite out of my comfort zone, but it turned out really good! I really try to test myself by making things I don't really think I'll be able to....because I do really want to keep getting better.
Also, it felt really good to help her out. Lots of deb dresses are around $1000, which is fine when your parents are paying. Stevie had to pay for half of it herself with her mum and dad paying the other half. She could not have afforded to pay $500 out of her part time after school job money. Because I had never made an evening dress, am not really 'professional' yet, and because she's a friend, I tried to be really reasonable in the amount I charged to make the dress. I got enough that I didn't feel 'used' or taken advantage of, but not enough to make it beyond her ability to afford, or to be taking advantage of her.
A win/win situation all round!
...I am really glad its finished though :-)

Same from me to both Jeremy & Magenta. You were both a bit pensive about your respective forthcoming events, but it's turned out well twice over. Have a good weekend y'all :-)

Thanks John, Magenta, and Chris. My 10yo daughter has an appointment next month at the same hospital. Shriners Hospitals are just awesome. My 10yo has a condition called Blounts disease. It has something to do with the bowing of the legs. At her age, unfortunately, the only way to correct it is surgery. They have to go in and break the legs, straighten everything up, and cast her. But then she will have 8 more years of doctor appointments, as Shriners only takes care of patients till they are 18, unless there is more to do, then they extend it to 21 years of age.

Thanks Mike and Magenta. Once its fixed it shouldn't cause any further problems, but it will be something to keep an eye on. My youngest daughter has something similar to what I have. I don't know the name of what they came up for my "issue", but my daughters is called Arthrogryposis, its pretty extensive. And, the geneticist said that her chances of passing it on to her children is a 50/50 chance, and it will continue that way. Maybe with technological advances, they can cure this stuff and stop it from passing onto further generations. Till then, my kids continue to go to Shriners, and their kids will probably end up there as well.

As nobody has wanted to tidy Rocky's since mid February, and the coffee milk is getting past it's use by date, it is time to fumigate, clean and restock this Cafe.
I am closing the doors for a few minutes while I get my super-egg suit on and rush around implementing my claim.
At least I look good wearing the egg yolk underpants on the outside of my egg white suit.
