Hello to all the Cafe People!

I see John Clark is talking in semi-sentences.

Evelyn Wood speed-speaking I believe.

Greetings friends...what shall I do now?

I know!

I'll hand carve stamps for use in my fabric dyeing experiments...

I carved the stamps from a variety of media including silk cut lino squares (grey), cheap cutting mat (green), and ezi-carve rubber block (white).

This image is an impression of the grey stamp - "Aum" or "Om". My surface was a little soft, which caused more to print than desired (the edges) but for a first effort carving and printing, I am happy with it. The paint is plain old acrylic paint with fabric fixative added to it.

Yes, Chris, much the same. Main difference is these stamps are re-usable...

I took another photo of some more practice impressions, in a different colour - its easier to see on camera :-)

Good morning Mike

It looks like we have similar weather here. The week end weather was glorious for this time of year.

Just as I got used to it being warm...
The forcast map shows a nice rain storm heading here from England.
Memo: lush green means lots of rain.

Brilliand sunny weather and cloudless skys here. Temperatures about the same as Chris, but I still need to consider getting up for a long walk with the pooches

Could you please share that sunshine?

Almost finished the dress...just need to put in the zip, attach the beading, and hem the skirts.

Boy oh boy - I hope she likes it (biting my fingernails with nervousness).

On another topic - I just love my RAC-A-LICIOUS Macbook Pro!!!

What's not to like? From the pics you've already shown the gown is going to be gorgeous. Every girl for miles around will be beating down your door wanting one of their own. Put in one of those "take a number" things and make them order well in advance! :-)

Thanks Perryjay :-)

The hesitancy comes from the fact that people look at a picture, and it is sometimes a little different in real life, and because they are not dressmakers they have little understanding that it is this way. Copying a design doesn't always result in a perfect replica... rather a very similar interpretation.

Anyway...its almost finished now, so I can't be worried about it now. The girl is coming over in a couple of days to do a final fitting.
