I'll always remember the one (video) about the design for changing from left to right traffic for the channel tunnel. That was when plans for digging it had just been announced, and most people thought you'd be driving through it.

Was an architectureal master piece involving loops (clover like) to get you to the other side.

Damp, wet, overcast, and 53F in Devon, or in other words a typical English Spring.

BTW looking forward to combing the papers tomorrow to find the April Fool spoofs. Doubt they'll ever beat the Spaghetti Tree! ;-)

San Serriffe was a close match.

I have started making the "Debutante" dress for my friend's daughter...

I was pretty anxious about it, having never made an evening dress before, but it is coming along well. It is actually really behaving itself, and seems to be easier than I thought it would be. YAY!!!

This is the lining of the dress, it will have an overlay of chiffon on the skirt...and a ruched overlay on the bodice. I will then hand sew a ribbon of beading over the bodice. The beading comprises pearls, diamante, clear crystal beads, and silver sequins.

I will post more pics as they become available :-)

She'll be the belle of the ball. A Magenta original. May it be the first of many.

Mike, just refer a future daughter in law to Magenta. Just part of the research Brides do, I guess. Who can create the most special dress.
