I have a box that has two GTX 460s in it - thing is they are different builds and also have different memory configs - what kind of issues will I have - if any running with this configuration? (they will not be SLI'd) here are the two cards: This is the host http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=4038605 |

So long as you don't run more than 2 w/u's on each you shouldn't have any problems. Cheers. |

pull off the heat sinks and count the memory chips. if they are the same i would bet you could unlock the extra memory by flashing with the other cards bios... you just need to unlock the wider bus which is already there. i unlocked a my 465 to a 470!!! wider memory bus with additional memory plus extra cores. |

BOINC sees the video cards as two separate devices. The estimated time to complete a WU may be an average of the two cards (over time), but there won't be any problems. As previous said, 2 w/u's running on each is the sweet spot. If you decide to run SLI for gaming, consider under/over-clocking the cards so their core clocks/memory clocks are the same. This will give you a more consistent framerate. Really nice workstation you have there! |
