Three of my machines are now crunching away with 4.07. Lots of work coming through too!

Message 43294 - Posted: 5 Nov 2004, 19:33:14 UTC - in response to Message 43290.

Things are fairly muddled here. Recieved the following cascade of errors when the checksum for 4.07 failed:

SETI@home - 2004-11-05 10:56:55 - Giving up on download of setiathome_4.07_windows_intelx86.exe: Downloaded file had wrong size: expected 753664, got 52064

SETI@home - 2004-11-05 10:56:55 - Unrecoverable error for result 03mr04aa.15588.20914.853396.196_1 (app_version download error: couldn't get input files:
setiathome_4.07_windows_intelx86.exe: signature verification error
)

SETI@home - 2004-11-05 10:59:45 - Started download of 03mr04aa.15588.20914.853396.176

SETI@home - 2004-11-05 10:59:45 - MD5 computation error for setiathome_4.07_windows_intelx86.pdb: -108

SETI@home - 2004-11-05 10:59:45 - Checksum or signature error for setiathome_4.07_windows_intelx86.pdb

Upshot - no new work units will d/l because the d/l of 4.07 failed. Now it's trying to do it all again...at about .64 kBps (dail-up be slow, but not THAT slow)

I have several here too. Although, it doesn't look as though any will crunch until at least late tonight.

Has the daily download limit changed to 30 WU's instead of 50?

It was just my P4 3.2 that hit its download limit. It would hit the limit when the daily quota was 50 too, but I have never seen it happen after downloading only 30 WU's.

Great news on the expected speed up with 4.07! I'll be eager to see how my machines process those version WU's in their queue. Thanks guys!

Is there a link you can direct us to?

Your Boinc Client will automatically update to the Seti 4.07 client the next time it updates and downloads more WU's. You do not have to do anything but let it happen.

98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

updating @the boinc menu doesn´t bring me to 4.07.
is it because of the high traffic by now?
or is something going wrong @servers?

unless no other hint, i will disable from network to avoid updating to 4.07 if it´s not working properly
