Knows no bounds.

Recently the BOINC manager has stopped communicating with the BOINC client on one of my crunchers.

I'm running the latest version of S@H and the Lunatics improvements. Windows XP/32 bit.

I've tried re-booting, repairing BOINC, deleting and re-installing BOINC. Re-installation worked for a couple of days each time I re-installed but then reverted to the same problem.

When I use task manager I can see that it's operating back there and occasionally I can see that it has communicated with S@H, uploading and reporting completed WUs when I check my account with another computer.

What the heck?

Any help will be gratefully accepted.

From BOINC Manager have you tried selecting "Advanced" > "Select Computer", leaving the host & password boxes empty, press the OK button. You can also enter localhost in the Hostname box if you would like. This should tell the manager to connect to the local instance of BOINC.

Thanks for the response HAL. I tried both actions you suggested and....no joy.

Hmmm odd. I would think maybe the windows firewall is causing a problem for you, but I wouldn't think it would work for a few days then stop. If you are using the windows firewall you could double check that boincmager.exe is allowed or port 31416.

Did you try the "Show active tasks only" button?
