Message 1070899 - Posted: 26 Jan 2011, 20:16:17 UTC

I have a new multi-core machine running
Ubuntu x86_64 10.10 and I am getting
XML parse errors. The tasks finish normally
though (no indication of an abort) and
apparently validate ok.

I'm a little worried about this. My other machines
don't cause such errors.
Have I made a mistake? How do I correct this?

Since your validate state is Valid, you can see these aren't errors.
They're informational messages. What it means is that the science application was built against an API that's younger than your present BOINC version. It now comes across all these new 'commands' that it cannot parse. And thus it skips them and tells you about skipping them. Without affecting the outcome of the task.

Boinc 6.10.58 (from Ubuntu 10.10 repository).
Glad there is nothing to worry about here. Thanks.

younger

I meant older. Where was I with my head when I wrote that? ;-)
Anyway, all the rest is still correct, it's just that your BOINC version is newer, with newer options built in than the science application can recognize (and use), so it ignores those.
