I keep being given astropulse work units which are large at 400-500 hours, which even with my computer running 24/7 have no chance of completing by the deadline. The process puts itself into high priority which still has no chance of the task completing. Can I set the down load to only take smaller work units, or can I delay the deadline please? |

I'd suggest giving it a run through first. BOINC is terrible at estimating time to completion when there's two diverse types of applications run (SETI MultiBeam vs. SETI AstroPulse). I'm sure you'll find that as you let the task run, the time to completion will come down to a more reasonable level. Your Intel Dual Core Pentium and your Intel Core 2 Mobile CPUs should be able to complete the task in around 40-60 hours. |

Thank you. I'll let them run. It would be a shame to run them to a point where the task fails for lack of time. |

Both of your computers should be able to handle a AP task in about 40 to 60 hours or so. And if you absolutely want to turn off the chance to get Astropulse work, you can go into this section of your prefs. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project And make sure that you have the option set to this. SETI@home Enhanced: yes Astropulse v5: no Astropulse v5.05: no If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? no |
