I have two GTX 465s running in SLI. They work great for a little bit but then, one of them stops. I have to go in and supspend and restart work and then they both start working again. It's irritating to me that they both won't keep working.

I would like to add that I know this because I have GPU usage monitored on my keyboard LCD. Just randomly one of the GPUs drops to zero. I look in the task list in BOINC and it says both GPU tasks are still running... but one is making no progress.

Not sure if this is still needed, but I have 2 cards in one of my machines. I always take it out of SLI before I start up SETI, otherwise I will always crash. From what I have seen and heard in the past, you can not run in SLI while trying to crunch SETI. Not sure why, but if you disable SLI, and then launch SETI you should be fine.

Someone may jump in here and correct me, but I believe you can run SLI and SETI if you have a relatively recent Nvidia driver. But boinc will just ignore the SLI configuration and use each card separately. Unless I'm just spewing misinformation... ;)

IIRC you'll also need one of the newer BOINC versions. 6.10 if I'm not mistaken

That could be it. My system that has 2 cards, if I try and run in SLI for some reason, I can launch it 2 run on all cores and both cards and within a 2-6hrs window, my computer will lock up. I was reading about the link you posted also, does that work with rainmaster app? Or anything I might need to undo?

You can use the priority tool with whatever apps you like, you just specify the process name, and you can specify multiple processes to set at high priority. Beware if your system is not already stable though, because it will be pushing the GPUs harder, using more power, making more heat, etc. The priority tool is pretty easy to use and doesn't require modifying any files. You can just close it when you want it to stop changing task priorities.

I'm not worried about the heat currently, but the noise while my wife is working in the office. So until come June/July I might have to change a few things, but normally the system will handle itself for cooling. Thank you again, but I may be asking/posting on other questions on how to set it up properly. Still reading, right now I have to get some work done I brought home. Work just never seems to go away. I wish Seti would have a link for that ;)
