At this moment my deticated seti chruncher is runnning for a few days. During these days I have been monitoring the temperatures.... My GPU's (Asus GeForce GTS 450) are overclocked from 783 to 926 Mhz.

My chruncher is build in a fractical casing, and under full load my temperatures are:

GPU 0: 57 degrees Celcius
GPU 2: 61 degrees Celcius

CPU : 49 degrees Celcius

Are these temperatures in the normal range, or should I try to lower them even more by adding more airflow?

your temps are well within normal temperatures for CPU/GPUs under a full load. Be aware that this may and will most likely change when summer comes.

I concur with skill on this. I dropped the house here 2 degrees Farenheit,
video card dropped 4-5 celsius.

Temperatures look great to me. In fact so low on the video card I would wonder if you are actually crunching on it lol.

one thing that I did do is manually set my GPU fan to 75%. this keeps the GPU between 52 and 58C

I have a stock 480 running in a box and it runs 88C - 90C (GPU Temp)
when the room is 80C

CPUs are at 48C with a tiny bit of OC. (this is a water cooled machine)

Why do you run your machines in the sauna? ;-)

Yeah I think he meant 80F not C that would be like 176F haha! My GTX 480 runs 72C under load with 2 WU's going. Fan speed is setup in a custom profile so at that temp my fans spool up to 77%. Cool for a fermi, not as cool as I would like though.

See below for details ons crunching status ;)

GPU 0:

GPU 1:

Only reason for the little higher temperature on gpu 1 is the fact that it is placed above GPU 0 on the MB...

Factory settings is 873Mhz, will my both gts 450's are running 898Mhz..

No I didn't doubt you were crunching lol. I was saying that sarcastically as my GTX 480 runs almost twice that temp. ;)

I am looking forward to the average RAC of the system, expecially because of the total power usage under 100% load 24/7. At this moment the power usage is an average of 305 Watt.

At this moment the system is running with even more overclocked GPU's. Without increasing the voltage, I am now running each GTS 450 at 955Mhz (873Mhz from stock). Still the highest temperatures on the upper GPU are nog more then 64 degrees celcius..

After this week I am getting my extra typhoon 500rpm 140mm fans and hope to be able to increase the overclock even more without increasing the voltage and temperatures..

To be continued...

Oke, a little bit extra tweaking of the airflow and an extra 140mm fan in my chruncher the system has been running for the last 72 hours under 100% load with the temperatures as shown below.

Mainboard 38 °C (100 °F)
CPU 46 °C (115 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #3 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #4 44 °C (111 °F)
Aux 38 °C (100 °F)
GPU1: GPU 51 °C (124 °F)
GPU2: GPU 53 °C (127 °F)

These values are looking great in my opinion...

Temps look terrific! Most people don't get that on high end machines unless they are on water cooling. So I would say you are doing just fine.
