Just broke 75k couple days ago. I have already started crunching at 50% due to the warm weather. I don't have any air conditioning so I must save my machine some undue stress for the next 5 months. Congrats to everyone with their massive amounts of work done! I saw a machine with dual hex cores in it with 8 gpu cards. Now that is a true workhorse! This puny laptop doesn't do much but it's still helping listen to the stars... Life's short; make fun of it. |

Congratulations to Gecko for the years of service helping us stick together through thick and thin at Lunatics. Gecko brought me into Lunatics and gave me encouragement, way back when I was struggling with Lunatics 2.2, and 2.4, then in secret on the ports of Alex's AKv8 to Windows. With his help I got to know Joe Segur, and later Raistmer as we refined Alex's excellent work with JDWhale, and he pointed me on the path to the supercompute phenomenon that is Cuda. I ask for a round of applause for Gecko and a wholehearted thankyou from everyone. It's with a heavy heart that I announce Gecko has chosen to move on, having been pushed too far with his janitorial duties by the weight of antagonistic postings. I hope I can be as patient & wise as new Janitor o' the Lunatics board. Thankyou, Jason "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Sorry to hear Gecko is moving on, he has been a great asset to us all. He will be sorely missed. Thanks, I think I'll have to bring in some iron fisted help to fill those sizeable shoes. It isn't something that comes naturally to me. LoL, I'll have to ask the new Installer department what's happening with that ;) I've been busy Cuda-ising Eric's Autocorrelations for V7, so haven't been paying attention to the OpenCL side. On the Cuda side I'm not real happy with the driver/SDK situation right at this moment, but rest assured when the V7-ready build has stabilised to something that I feel is ready for wider test, it'll likely make it into a test installer in short order, and allow me to continue with the more complex optimisations. Wow! 37 million is fantastic Sutaru! Everyone has done very well with their milestones. I wish to thank Gecko for his work over the years, and to wish Jason the very best as he continues in Gecko's footsteps. Gecko will be missed for certain. I know first hand that the Lunatics team is very dedicated, and extremely intelligent and motivated. They don't get paid anything, but they constantly work long hours for all of us. Much more than many of us realize. Best wishes and good luck to all Lunatics. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |
