SETI/BOINC MILESTONE THREAD GUIDELINES:

01. Please do not post any embedded images. If you must include an image in your post, for illustrative purposes, create a link to it. No thumbnails either, please. Stats images are allowed in signatures only.
02. While quoting a post with a very long broken URL in it, fix it if you know BBCode, otherwise delete it or place spaces in it to break it up so it will wrap properly.
03. While making a post, with a long URL, use a small link name. An option, if you have no control over the url, is to use http://tinyurl.com/ to create a new "tiny" link.
04. Please do not use obscene language and/or threaten other participants. Moderators may delete such messages.

HINTS FOR DIALUP USERS:

You can update your preferences in your account. Edit your "Forum preferences":

01. Set "Show images as links". This will also create a link for images in signatures, but will not hide avatars.
02. Set "Hide avatar images". All you will see is the username and stats.
03. Set "Hide signatures". Some signatures have useful information, links to related sites and such and witty quotes. If you set this, there will be no signatures displayed. ( See #1 in this section)

Well, I boosted the i7 to run on 6 cylinders now. Was running on 4.

My RAC has climbed over 2.7K because of it. I wonder where it will be when I crank up the other 2 cylinders? :)

Now for a milestone of a different sort: I am going to start a new thread a couple posts earlier than I normally would. I'm not sure I can get back here to do it when this thread would get to 300 posts. So... :)

Hello I can give you a guesstiment an how your i7 will do in rac. My i7 920 no overclock and with a nvidia GTS 250 with no overclock but running Opp Apps on both is nearing 10.000 rac. Thats running with HT on all cylinders. Of course your mileage my vary:)

My i7 is only an 860, my nVIDIA card is a GT 430. Neither are overclocked and I don't run on the GPU. The highest my RAC ever was, with hyperthreading, I believe about 5.2K.

I'm going to be upgrading the OS within the next 2 months or so and possibly even get away from nVIDIA and go with ATI instead.

New computer crunching successfully for over a week now
RAC approaching 11,000 almost double

Congrats on the new computer's RAC Richard. New bits are always fun. My newest server build, even with the issues I've had / am having, has managed to break ~1500 RAC and climbing. This brings my overall RAC to an all time high of almost 28k! Previous high was 26k. So far so good, I suppose.

This is currently the 7th machine, which reached this.
