Short message today. Wow, that outage went pretty quick this morning! Of course the replica mysql database on jocelyn is sweating to catch up as I write these sentences, but still.

We plan at least one more tweak on informix, which we'll likely do tomorrow (we only need to stop the assimilators/splitters when we bounce the informix engine, so you shouldn't notice anything except for some red lights on the server status page).

Tracking the new server: last seen in Minnesota this morning (which is closer than where it was in Wisconsin yesterday). It's slated to be here on Friday.

Thanks for the update Matt, have you decided on the new server's duties yet?

I wonder if it is being pulled by some reindeer on a sleigh.

If it finds it's way to Omaha, it will have to stay here a while due to... ummm... inspection for bed bugs.... yeah, that's it... bed bugs.

For gaming we could set Matt up with much faster much cheaper. Something that would survive the SETI abuse was another thing completely.

Nice to see things are working to the positive cycle of the world. With New Servers in place and weeding out the old/faulty devices, outages should be minimised. Database corruption is one of those things that, on occasion, cannot be avoided. Fortunately, informix has some nice tools to fix database corruption which should make life more livable.

I can't afford to assist financially with SETI. However, I am happy to give my unused cpu cycles to aid the project.

Great to hear that the new box is close to being delivered.

(is the plural of Box, Boxen or Boxes???)

Cheers, Chris
