Reprise of the rules. The winner of the previous round posts a picture and a question about it. Typically "where. You may not use "tin eye" or similar reverse image look up sites. Please do not use EXIF data from the image to help. (note to posters, please remove EXIF data). This can include titles and location data. Please do not allow 24 hours to pass between clues. Questions deserve an answer (with the exception, of course, of directly asking for the answer). We will have to figure out how to deal with winners that go AWOL. Clues may be text or photographic. Contestants may use text searches to look for images (in particular images.google.com is allowed to be searched via text searches). There is no rule about having visited a place. If you have visited a place (or not) and instantly recognize where the picture is, go for it. Please try to choose a picture and question where it is possible someone else will know or be able to research your answer. For example a picture of someone in your family and asking for the name will be just impossible for anyone else to get. PM The winner. |

Thank you for the win. That was really a team effort. I would have never guessed without all of the other guesses. Well I hope to keep this a hot thread to visit, so here's fire from above and below. Where is this: The name of the volcano is sufficient. |

I believe this one is going to be difficult as well: What is the name of the building, and which city or town is it in? (From my personal collection) BOINC WIKI |

That appears to be an artificial garland which leads me to ask. United states? In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

That appears to be an artificial garland which leads me to ask. Not certain whether it is artificial or not. Yes. (edit: I was rather hoping that someone would pick on the main architecture element first). BOINC WIKI |

Looks like the arch is made of sandstone and dolomite, but I have never seen that arch before. |

Looks like the arch is made of sandstone and dolomite, but I have never seen that arch before. It is based on arches that we have seen before. BOINC WIKI |

Looks like the arch is made of sandstone and dolomite, but I have never seen that arch before. It is ---->arco de medio punto, sorry, but no English version on this one!! The lamps attached on the columns indicates that the building is not from Ancient Greece/Rome, but after Thomas A. Edison´s time!! The triangle in the middle top of the arch indicates some relationship with the Freemasonry movement/organization. |

Looks like the arch is made of sandstone and dolomite, but I have never seen that arch before. It is not Arco de Medio Punto. The building was built before electricity came to the area. But about the time of Thomas Edison. It is indeed not in Greece or Rome. It has nothing to do with the Free Masons. [edit] The building is in use today for its original purpose. It has been remodeled since it was built. One of these remodels added electricity. BOINC WIKI |

There might be a date in the triangle but I cant read it. The arch seems to have roses and serpents in it? Roses are likely. Serpents aren't. [edit] A certain type of vine is likely though. [further edit]There is likely to be a date in the keystone, and it is likely to read 1861. BOINC WIKI |

those doors look very heavy. a museum? College building? Yes, they are heavy. No it is not a museum, nor is it a college building (on campus or otherwise). BOINC WIKI |
