G'day guys, recently joined seti and plowed through a fair bit of work with my amd quad core, however found that it was running really hot as i had a stock heatsink. i bought a rockin heatsink for my cpu for christmas however accidentally broke my cpu in the process.....

Heres the question, whilst i am under the belief that i will have a new cpu by the 4th of jan and my work is due on the 18th, what are the repercussions for late work or processing you have done returned after their due date? Is it like a 10% off your credit return per day its late like a uni assignment or does your computer send it straight back and you get a black mark against your name?

If the WU’s “quorum” hasn’t been reached by the time your result comes in (or for some other reason the validator hasn’t yet checked it), none at all: assuming your work turns out to be valid you’ll get credit as usual.

If the WU has already been checked and removed from the working database, your result will be ignored and you won’t receive any credit.

The worst possible consequence of returning late or erroneous results is that the host’s download quota will be temporarily reduced. Subsequently submitting valid work (and on time) will restore its quota, and no permanent “black marks” are made anywhere.
