Go to your app_info and look for the <cmdline> </cmdline> it may have something in there already. just add -hp to the line leaving a space between the -hp and any other cmd line items you can also scroll down further on the app_info and edit the <count>1</count> to 0.5 to run 2 WU's at a time 0.25 for 4 etc. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Skildude's suggestion of changing the <count>1</count> to <count>0.5</count> or <count>0.25</count> will use more memory. That will cause 2 or 4 WUs at once to run, using 2x or 4x as much memory on the GPU. |

Hi All So, I've some more question. I can not get worked all the time up to the GPU. sometimes it runs between 60% to 75% and 25% of both, really just a few times at 90% (one in ten) I've this app_info <app_info> <app> <name>astropulse_v505</name> </app> <file_info> <name>ap_5.06_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r456.exe</name> <executable/> </file_info> <file_info> <name>AstroPulse_Kernels.cl</name> <executable/> </file_info> <app_version> <app_name>astropulse_v505</app_name> <version_num>506</version_num> <avg_ncpus>0.01</avg_ncpus> <max_ncpus>0.01</max_ncpus> <plan_class>ati13ati</plan_class> <cmdline>-hp -ffa_block 8192 -ffa_block_fetch 2048</cmdline> <coproc> <type>ATI</type> <count>1</count> </coproc> <flops>15987654321</flops> <file_ref> <file_name>ap_5.06_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATI_r456.exe</file_name> <main_program/> </file_ref> <file_ref> <file_name>AstroPulse_Kernels.cl</file_name> <copy_file/> </file_ref> </app_version> </app_info> Thanks for your help!!! |

The reason you can't get work all the time is that you've set it to only do Astropulse. You'll need to add the r177 information that you can find on the Numbers Crunching forum thread that Raistmer start. you'll have to edit the app_info to include the r177 and you might want to run the Lunatics unified installer v0.37 then edit your app_info to include the astropulse r456 and multibeam app r177. that way you'll be able to run on your CPU and GPU at the same time. I also noticed that you have your Astropulse running 1 at a time. change the <count>1<count> to <count>0.5<count> you can do the same to the app_info section for the r177 but remember to add the number of applications to 2 in your <cmdline> In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Hi skildude, Thanks for your answer. I try it, but I don't want use with cpu, because too much noise, and too busy. I don't can use the computer for work. And put more wu, it's too long. 1 wu it's ok, but the second need hours and hours. I still like that |

too much noise? the GPU is the noisy part of the system. when that fan gets around 50% you know you are running the GPU. The CPU doesn't create any more sound than if it were idling In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

So, skildude. I don't ask about what you think. ok don't answer if you don't have a solution about my question, thanks |

I did have a solution. Running the GPU creates noise, not the CPU. When you use your CPU to do Seti@home you'll get the same noise as if your CPU were idling. a very low whirring sound to be exact. A GPU on the other hand sounds like a freight train coming out of your PC when you start crunching. The whole reason for that is the fan. The fan speed ramps up as the GPU heats up. I keep my fan at around 65% speed. So I always have the noise though I also keep my GPU very cool. The point here is you are doing the exact opposite of what needs to be done if you didn't want your computer to make a lot of noise while computing In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. I stopped WU's for my GPU because of heat. Now I have a new fan and would like to start again. How can I force SETI to send some work for the GPU? I have set preferences appropriately but only get work for the CPU's. |

you'll need to install the app and app_info files from the Lunatics site. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

you'll need to install the app and app_info files from the Lunatics site. Why? Colin is running the stock applications. @Colin: Meanwhile your CUDA host has downloaded some CUDA (GPU) tasks. You probably had to outlast the 24-hour offset. Gruß, Gundolf |
