im not a new user have used bonic and seti befor but i downloaded it again just a few weeks ago in all my time of using it i have never had any problems with it at all as im pretty good with computers anyway. as i say all this time ive not had any problems im running projects for seti@home world community grid and the milkyway one. now the problem is none of my finished seti@home work units are uploading i have 16 completed and qued up to be uploaded and more being added all the time as it does not seem to have any problem downloading new ones. all the other projects work fine as well its just the seti@home uploads that are not working it will say "retrying in" a few times but after a few retries they all soon start to come up with " retry in *time* (project backoff *time*).... and thats now all they seem to do it was working fine befor last night i was watching it at the time so i know i did not change any settings but i still checked them all anyway nothing has changed at all no new antivirus installed no new firewall or anything so im a bit stuck any idea's anyone??? |

I am currently getting the following error message when trying to upload completed work units, which began yesterday... Yes my problem is exactly the same as that i have now over 20 completed work units waiting to be uploaded which is why i did not copy and paste it all would have been too much but by the sound of it its seti@home are having problems with their servers as mulitiple people are having the same issues. I just hope that if they do no sort it befor the units deadlines are up that we still get our points for it as it will not be our faults that it arrived late :( |

you shouldn't run into deadlines unless you are taking 6+ weeks to complete your work. Seti allows ample time to get work back. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

you shouldn't run into deadlines unless you are taking 6+ weeks to complete your work. Seti allows ample time to get work back. well quite a few of the work units i have had only have a day or 2 left on them to complete they are normally the cuda units as most of them are done in less than 20 minutes anyway well all the ones ive had so far have been anyway so i guess they dont give the shorter ones that long of a deadline or it may be where i had only just reinstalled the prgram they may have chucked a few in there for me to cath up on... but at any rate all of my uploads are now completed so they must have fixed their servers now anyone who is still having the same problem im sure it wont be much longer befor it is sorted for you too :) |

You do know that they have to be reported too, before the time against deadline stops counting, don't you? Gruß, Gundolf |

Usually BOINC does it for you, but if you don't want to wait, click the Update button on the Projects tab. Gruß, Gundolf |

Let's see if I can remember the list of triggers: BOINC will report tasks at the first of: 1) 24 hours after completion. 2) 24 hours before the report deadline. 3) Connect Ever X before the report deadline. 4) 60 seconds after completion if the task completes after any of 1 - 3. 5) On any work request. 6) On a trickle up message (CPDN only) 7) On a trickle down request (I don't know of any at the moment). 8) On a server scheduled contact. 9) On an Account Manager requested contact. 10) When the user presses the update button.
