Hi, when I joined BOINC, I tried to join as an existing account user but the system did not recognise my email address, so I joined as a new user thinking the old (Classic) SETI was indeed dead and buried. I have now noticed I can get my old credits form "Classic SETI" I have tried with my current email address but it says something about its attached to BOINC. I m pretty sure it's the address I had way back then and would dearly like to get my old credits as I was running SETI on about 40 PCs and roughly 6 servers.

Can anyone help me please?

If you never crunched Boinc with your original Classic account you can claim it using the link at the bottom of Instructions for SETI@home Classic users. All you need is your original Email address. It will add your Classic score as a separate entry in your Boinc account and use the original Classic join date. You can only join one Classic account this way. It's not added to the Boinc Credits since Boinc use a different credit system.

Hi Thanks for your answer, I have tried that and I get the following response.

"This e-mail address (john******@*******.com) belongs to an active BOINC account, so we can't transfer its credit to your account.
Try again"

Is there any other way to get my old account associated with my BOINC account? I have looked at all the boards regarding this and every response says go to the "Instructions for SETI@home Classic users".

As far as I can remember when I joined BOINC I tried the existing member option and made the mistake of putting my password in and that appears to have been my mistake.

So is there any way round this?

PS Lovely PET you have their ;-)

That indicates that you tied the Classic account to a Boinc account already. If that email is still active you can log off then go to the log in page and use the forgot password. Seti will send the email address a temporary authorization key to log in with will allow you to change the password. Otherwise I'm afraid you're out of luck.

It you succeed to get into the account, you will likely want to detach Boinc from the current project account and reattach with the old account/password to crunch with it.

Think I am chasing a lost cause here, never mind thanks for your help.
My first computer was a PDP 11 and now at the click of a button I am informed of this: Number of CPUs: 4, 2028 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU, 6049 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU and I thought my old PDP was fast.
