Hi All On Dec 15 I decided to add SETI@home to the projects I'm running. Since then I've only completed 2 WUs, 1 is reported as being abandoned ( Astropulse v505 v5.06 ) 1 that started yesterday and detached today is shown with a status of "in progress". Reading through the log SETI@home has reset and detached 8 times so far. I'm running Linux with a nVidia 8600GT video card, driver version 260.19.29. All other projects are running fine. Here are a sample of the log entries: 17-Dec-2010 08:03:20 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 17-Dec-2010 08:03:35 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 17-Dec-2010 08:03:35 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for GPU 17-Dec-2010 08:03:38 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 17-Dec-2010 08:03:38 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 17-Dec-2010 08:03:38 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work is available for Astropulse v5 17-Dec-2010 08:08:42 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 17-Dec-2010 08:08:42 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for GPU 17-Dec-2010 08:08:50 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 17-Dec-2010 08:08:50 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 17-Dec-2010 08:08:50 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work is available for Astropulse v5 17-Dec-2010 08:54:05 [SETI@home] Restarting task 10se10aa.12916.1703.14.10.155_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 17-Dec-2010 10:03:56 [SETI@home] Resuming task 10se10aa.12916.1703.14.10.155_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 17-Dec-2010 11:52:49 [SETI@home] Resuming task 10se10aa.12916.1703.14.10.155_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 17-Dec-2010 13:16:24 [SETI@home] Resuming task 10se10aa.12916.1703.14.10.155_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 17-Dec-2010 15:19:40 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 17-Dec-2010 15:19:49 [SETI@home] Resetting project 17-Dec-2010 15:19:50 [SETI@home] Detaching from project 18-Dec-2010 07:06:46 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 18-Dec-2010 07:06:59 [SETI@home] Starting 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 18-Dec-2010 07:06:59 [SETI@home] Starting task 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 18-Dec-2010 07:07:14 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 18-Dec-2010 07:07:14 [SETI@home] Reporting 1 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for GPU 18-Dec-2010 07:07:17 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 18-Dec-2010 07:07:17 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 18-Dec-2010 07:07:17 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work is available for Astropulse v5 18-Dec-2010 07:16:32 [SETI@home] Resuming task 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 18-Dec-2010 09:14:26 [SETI@home] Resuming task 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 18-Dec-2010 11:23:25 [SETI@home] Resuming task 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 18-Dec-2010 17:08:44 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 18-Dec-2010 17:08:51 [SETI@home] Restarting task 09se10ab.32136.16018.10.10.85_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 18-Dec-2010 17:08:51 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 18-Dec-2010 17:08:51 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for GPU 18-Dec-2010 17:08:55 [SETI@home] Resetting project 18-Dec-2010 17:08:56 [SETI@home] Detaching from project 21-Dec-2010 08:31:21 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 21-Dec-2010 08:31:28 [SETI@home] Restarting task 08jn10ae.27824.67067.6.10.84_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 21-Dec-2010 08:31:51 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 21-Dec-2010 08:31:51 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for GPU 21-Dec-2010 08:31:58 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 21-Dec-2010 08:31:58 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 21-Dec-2010 08:31:58 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work is available for Astropulse v5 21-Dec-2010 08:31:58 [SETI@home] Message from server: _("No work available for the applications you have selected. Are you using an account manager, such BOINCstats BAM! or GridRepublic? If so, you'll have to attach through them. Gruß, Gundolf |

Thanks for the reply. I use Boincstats BAM and I use it for doing everything. Stewart |

I use Boincstats BAM and I use it for doing everything. Obviously, you didn't use it to attach to SETI. ;-) And you skipped the BAM! messages in the log you posted. Does it work now for you? Gruß, Gundolf |

Hi, thanks for the reply. | Obviously, you didn't use it to attach to SETI. ;-) Yes I did, I couldn,t even tell you how to do it any other way without looking it up. | And you skipped the BAM! messages in the log you posted. Yes, my mistake. I don't know how many you need but here's a full days worth up to the last detach. 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Starting BOINC client version 6.10.58 for i686-pc-linux-gnu 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Libraries: libcurl/7.21.2 OpenSSL/1.0.0c zlib/1.2.5 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Running as a daemon 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Data directory: /var/lib/boinc 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11] 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Processor: 4.00 MB cache 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe nx lm constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts aperfmperf pni dtes64 monitor ds_cpl vmx est tm2 ssse3 cx16 xtpr pdcm lahf_lm dts tpr 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] OS: Linux: 2.6.36-pae 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Memory: 3.93 GB physical, 2.41 GB virtual 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Disk: 48.77 GB total, 23.14 GB free 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Local time is UTC +0 hours 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 8600 GT (driver version unknown, CUDA version 3020, compute capability 1.1, 511MB, 76 GFLOPS peak) 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [SETI@home] URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5691905; resource share 90 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [SETI@home] General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 21-Dec-2010 14:10:47) 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [SETI@home] Computer location: home 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [SETI@home] General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Reading preferences override file 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Preferences: 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] max memory usage when active: 2013.24MB 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] max memory usage when idle: 3623.83MB 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] max disk usage: 10.00GB 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 50 % 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] (to change preferences, visit the web site of an attached project, or select Preferences in the Manager) 25-Dec-2010 09:02:29 [---] Not using a proxy 25-Dec-2010 09:02:50 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 25-Dec-2010 09:02:50 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for GPU 25-Dec-2010 09:02:52 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 25-Dec-2010 09:02:52 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 25-Dec-2010 09:13:02 [SETI@home] Restarting task 26mr10aa.2189.23553.12.10.9_0 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 25-Dec-2010 10:13:13 [---] Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high 25-Dec-2010 10:13:23 [---] Resuming computation 25-Dec-2010 10:19:56 [---] Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high 25-Dec-2010 10:20:06 [---] Resuming computation 25-Dec-2010 12:21:57 [---] Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high 25-Dec-2010 12:22:08 [---] Resuming computation 25-Dec-2010 12:24:30 [SETI@home] Resuming task 26mr10aa.2189.23553.12.10.9_0 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 25-Dec-2010 12:24:39 [---] Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high 25-Dec-2010 12:24:49 [---] Resuming computation 25-Dec-2010 13:12:29 [---] Contacting account manager at http://bam.boincstats.com/ 25-Dec-2010 13:12:31 [---] Account manager: BAM! I think he was trying to to you that you need to attach to the project through your account manager at BAM! if you try to attach through your PC boinc manager it will detach as it has been doing In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
