With all of the programmers involved with seti, why can't someone set up a simple system to find a specific person in the summary stats? If I am, 670th, for example, I have to look through 33+ pages at 20 per page, to find myself. Why can't I just jump to a specified person or a specified range of averages or totals? What would be that hard. Most databases do this. |

I use this site to check my place rank: http://www.setisynergy.com/stats/ After you get the search results click on your name and you will get all kinds of good info. |

It's not that big a deal to jump as many records into the, for instance, "Top participants" display as you would like. The URL for the second page of the "Top participant" display is: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/top_users.php?sort_by=expavg_credit&offset=20 Just change the offset value from 20 to, in your case, 660. Hit the Enter key, and, bingo, all the records from 661 to 680 are displayed. You can page forward in the list or backward using the "Previous 20 | Next 20" links at the bottom if the page. Using this approach, no additional programming is necesary, it's already built in to the system. The "Top computers" display is: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/top_hosts.php?sort_by=expavg_credit&offset=XX THe "Top teams" display is: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/top_teams.php?sort_by=expavg_credit&offset=XX Just change the XX to some number just shy of the point in the list at which you want to look. Cheers, Stephen <P>"I want to go dancing on the moon, I want to frolic in zero gravity!....", and now, I might be able to go someday! Thanks, SpaceShipOne and crew!<BR><a><img src="http://69.93.59.107/stats/banner.php?cpid=26cbd89db7fb85cbfe580729d76705c1"></a> |
