yes, and the last one to happen on Winter solstice was over 300 yrs ago acording to what i read

I looked it up.. 372 years ago... 1638.(not sure if that was summer or winter solstice, but apparently at the time, Gallileo was under house arrest.

We missed the eclipse due to cloud cover.
Oh well, we'll just catch it next time it happens on the solstice. LOL
