Hallo!

I have an account created 10 years ago:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=511961

But I can't remember which email address I used back in these days, so I cant log in anymore. I send my old account a private-message and a friend request but I dont get any mails :( So I think I have no access to this address anymore.

What can I do? To verify that this is my account, you can make a Whois on the domain listed in the Profile or send a email to something@aaron-mueller.de.

Please, I want my old account back :(

If it was 10 years ago, it would have been a classic account, not a BOINC account. You can find information on how to attach your current BOINC account to your Classic account here, which is linked from the SETI@Home home page. You can try several old email addresses when attempting to attach the account.

If it was more recent than that (within the last 5 or 6 years), then you have to either have access to your email account, or you have to have a backup of the BOINC data directory from the time. The BOINC data directory will have a file named client_state.xml. If you have not found this file, you have not found the directory. When you do find this directory, look for account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml. This file will have an authenticator in it that can be used as an alternate method for logging in. NOTE: Do not EVER post your authenticator anywhere. It can be used to impersonate you.

You last used the old account:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=511961

not too long ago (11 May 2009)
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?sort=rpc_time&rev=0&show_all=1&userid=511961

1) You can just try every email address you used in the past 10 years

2) If this computer (or any of the 5 computers used with the old account) still exist (HDD not erased):
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (1023MB)
Linux 2.6.28-11-generic

find the file:
account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml

and use the found inside:
<authenticator>1111122222333334444455555xxxxx</authenticator>

to enter (Log-in) the old account.

I've found an old backup with the key. Thanks!

Now detach any computer you attached to the new (Credit: 0) account
(I think Power Macintosh was/is attached)
and attach it again to the old (Credit: 10,646) account.
