Hello, I need some help without loosing the data I have. I have Seti@Home and the lunatics optimized running. Maybe someone here can help me. My real issue is I am not getting any Cuda work. I used too before the servers went down, but I have also installed the lunatic during the down time. So I do not know where the problem lies. I was going to uninstall Seti and reinstall but every time in the past I have lost the work and data I have running. I do not want this to happen again. I have lost so much over the last few years. I like seeing green boxes etc on the screen saver. Maybe rather than uninstall someone can explain to me how to get the Cuda running again. I will thank all now for your help! I almost forgot that I have the latest Nvidia driver installed, Seti v 6.12.6 (X64) and lunatic unified installer .37 installed. If more info is needed I will gladly post, except CC Card #'s ;) one more thing, I think I have AstroPulse installed also and hopefully working correctly I hope. I think that's it now. Patrick M. You CUDA tasks are all in error: Error tasks for computer 5632335 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=5632335&offset=0&show_names=1&state=5&appid= That's why you are allowed to get only 1 task per day: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=5632335 (until your GPU is able to correctly compute at least 1 task) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

I'm sorry, I have no idea what you are trying to tell me. What do I need to do to fix? Patrick M. O'Rourke |

It looks like you have a driver issue. You might want to try re-installing the nVidia graphics drivers to see if that helps. |

That could be. I had to reinstall Windows early last week and I am still updating. I just updated Nvidia today so hopefully that will fix that issue. So you all think my install with Seti and Lunatic is OK and does not need to be reinstalled? Also could someone address the other part of my large, muti gaggle of a question on saving data when you do a uninstall so the data will be there when you reinstall pretty please with alien poop on top? I guess more specifically which folders should I put in a safe place so I can put them back after reinstall? Thanks! So far! Patrick M. O'Rourke |

The only way to tell if your installation is fine at this point is doing the wait and see approach. The first rule of troubleshooting is to change a single variable and observe the results before fiddling with other things. As for what to save: the cool thing about the uninstaller is that it is non-destructive. You can uninstall BOINC and then save the leftovers, which is all your unprocessed work, settings, etc. The location of this data depends on what Operating System you are using. For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC For Windows Vista/7: C:\Programdata\BOINC In both cases saving the entire BOINC folder will suffice. Simply put this folder back in the exact location before an install and the installer will non-destructively place BOINC over the top without deleting any of your existing data and pick up exactly where you left off. |

I am processing CUDA now. I just needed to update the Nvidia driver after windows install. So now that it is working like it is suppose to there is no need to uninstall. Thanks for all the info. I am sure I will need it again one day. Patrick M. O'Rourke |

Yes, it seems that your CUDA is working OK now: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=5632335&offset=0&show_names=0&state=2&appid= And you are using the latest opt CUDA app (from Lunatics' Unified Installer v0.37) Lunatics_x32f_win32_cuda30_preview.exe Multibeam x32f Preview, Cuda 3.0 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=1740897119 Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Thanks to you all for helping me. I did not want to uninstall again. My Win 7 messed up a couple of weeks ago, and after reinstalling Win 7 a few times along with other software I am tired of the process. It's time for this laptop to work again. I can only imagine y'alls ordeal with the old servers and setting up the new servers. But, before I go back to my hole I do have another question. Why in my info for my computer it says "anonymous platform"? Is it something I forgot to fill in, or is it because of the optimized "Lunatic" build? Thanks Again! Patrick M. O'Rourke |

Because of the optimized Lunatics build that you are using. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

When you have app_info.xml file (in the project directory) (in this case created by Lunatics' Unified Installer) this is reported as 'Anonymous platform' on the web pages. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Anonymous_platform See my host: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=4832843 Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |
