Ok I have seen it here before but I cannot find it right now. I accidentally clicked on the bar and sorted my tasks by application. How do I "unsort" them? I believe it was a registry change. Anyone? |

you can sort by date, project etc by just clicking on the header above what you want the tasks sorted by. I think the default and what I prefer is Report Date In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Yes, it's below [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley\BOINC Manager] Gruß, Gundolf |

It's been a while and I don't want to mess up my BOINC manager layout either by trying it again ;-) but I don't think that you can do much wrong at this place, since mostly the layout parameters are stored here. Beneath the "BOINC Manager" key, you'll find keys for each tab in the different views (and languages), e.g.: Projects, ProjectsGrid, Tasks, TasksGrid, Tâches, ... Some of those contain values with "Sort" in the name. Either delete all the "SortColumn" entries or set their value to -1 (0xffffffff). But File/Exit the manager first, lest it saves the old values at the next exit and overwrites your changes. Gruß, Gundolf |

the default is FIFO which is particularly meaningless. The manager is meant to be tweaked especially the WU page In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

the default is FIFO which is particularly meaningless. It's just the order in which the tasks are processed ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |

FIFO is just what I wanted. I deleted the entries under Tasks and all is good. Thanks! |

thats hard to do and there isnt any real setting for that. Perhaps with the registry or just reinstalling boinc you might be able to just overwrite what youve done. Though the BOINC manager is meant to be manipulated and FIFO doesnt necessarily work. My cache is moderately sized and it tends to take the earliest return dates first. I wish there were an actual setting on the manager where you could change it according to arrival times but I dont think thats even ever been looked at for integration In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. I sort by Progress - that way all started tasks are at the top and all un-started are sorted by FIFO (after at least 1 task finishes (or is reported?)) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Well all in all I like the default, unsorted, FIFO setup. By deleting the sort entries under "Tasks", it goes back the original. Oldest at the top and newest at the bottom. |
