I think this may be the consequence of BOINC adjusting the client Duration Correction Factor (only) until ten validated results have accumulated, and then suddenly applying the full DCF (with no gradual transition) at the server as well. It should happen once, and once only, per new install - but once is still too many. |

It should happen once, and once only, per new install - but once is still too many. The problem is that you may get hundreds of WU's before that time. All of them incorrect.
