It appears that your computer isn't recognizing "COMODO CA, Ltd." as a valid certification authority. The most common cause of that would be, either your browser or BitDefender using doesn't include COMODO CA in its cacert file.

Upgrading might help. The version of Firefox I have (3.6.12) has the COMODO CA cert in it, as does IE8. I doubt it would be in IE6. I don't know what version of Firefox was the first to include it.

Safari 4.0.4 does not have the proper certificate installed. Again, I don't know which version of Safari would first have the proper certification. Matt tells me that recent versions of Safari on iPhone and iPad have the correct certificates.

Recent versions of Chrome appear to have the proper certificate. However the Google browser on my Android phone does not.

If your browser doesn't have the correct certificate, you can verify that the one you have is correct by viewing the certificate. If the certificate has following properties, you've got the right one.

* Issued to Common Name devcomm.urel.berkeley.edu
* Issued by Common Name COMODO High-Assurance Secure Server CA
* Serial Number 00:E2:95:17:C5:2F:C2:72:C1:8B:10:08:65:A2:E0:55:E2

I must be vain, since I care about this issue.
My donation is not fully listed.
On my account I am listed for 1 donation, but I did donate twice this year.
Did someone put the money in their own pocket lol ;-)

there is some issues to be taken care of -

i used the donation site and i failed bigtime using it :-(

but even tho the browser said fail in payment and i tried it 3 times with no luck
and now i see on my bank account they amount i tryid to pay now been paid 3 times .. (no x-mas for me now) that sux :(

how is it possible to get my money even when the browser didnt work

i hope some at SETI@HOME can help me with this payment isssiu i wasent suppose to pay 3 times :(

The donation site is set up for North America but it works fine for UK people if you do as I have done below. Usually when you donate by card you have to put exactly what the name on the card is. Not necessary here and it doesn't work with initials!

Put full first and last names, not what appears on card
Put address in address 1
Put town in address 2
Put county in city
Set state to other or none
Set Country to United Kingdom
Put Post code in post code
Tick friend of cal
Tick/untick permission to publish
Add any gift instructions

You may need to re-add town into address 2 in card details

I know it works because I just gave another $10!

Thanks, Chris S. Due to this message of yours, I happened to try today, once again, thinking that “dang, no avail, but...”

Have namely had problems in donating to SETI—and no whatsoever similar problems anywhere else, and both my local and national bank have checked this finding no reason either. Other ways were tried too, mostly in vain for various reasons, but eventually we did it—cheers and thanks, Uli ;-)

This time today, the thing did not go through again. Lag, lag, nothing happening, eventually I stopped the proceedings. Regardless, now a few hours later, I seem to have received a message however: “Thank you for your gift to the SETI@home. We received your gift of $10.00 via Visa on 12/29/2010. Your confirmation number is 68761.” So it may be the case, that this experiment went through, after all. If so, I wish to see this experiment as separate from any recent SETI fund raising activities.

Considering the time of the year and according to the normal procedure, I as well desire to present the relevant wishes regarding the near future.
