Well, 1 AP splitter and 4 MB splitters are running. So new work should start flowing!

Just snagged my first newly-split tasks (a -0 and a -1). Welcome to the brave new world of S@H.

It is so hard not to mash buttons. But I am behaving. I think I had better head AFK for a bit or I might get in trouble.

I got 15 vlar's! I'm trying for more, but it feels so good to be crunching SETI again. I tuned my rig up to 4.26 GHz, and have enabled hypertheading to see what it does. It worked for Einstein but each project may require different tuning. STI is best crunched by GPU's while Einstein is mostly CPU driven. I'm excited after reading Matt's post. I know they will ramp things up as the problems work themselves out, and the issues get put to bed. It's good to be back!

If this is an i7 system I hope you have water cooling at those speeds with HT enabled. I have noticed with mine that HT enabled jumps the temps 10C. I keep mine at a hair over 4G to keep the temps under 70C for 24/7/365 operation with the 2 X 480's running in it.

Fear not. Mine is not only water cooled, but I use an aquarium chiller to bring the coolant temps well below room temp. My 2 480s are also water cooled, and running solid at 860 MHz. My CPU temps are at 66°C, which is fine. I do use TThrottle, so if it gets too hot, it will back throttle the CPU.

No work here. Maybe we have to wait for another channel to complete on the splitter.

No, mb_splitter processes produce groups of 256 WUs at a time, ~62 groups for a full channel from a 50.2 GB file. But it is a very bursty delivery and your host needs to ask for work just after a group has been done and added 512 tasks to "ready to send".

OTOH, AP WUs are created fairly steadily but only 400 tasks from a channel.

I got one! An AP. Only need... ~36 more of those and my cache is filled. Letting BOINC do what it was designed to do. Button mashing bad.

[edit: and 30 seconds after posting.. another one! 35 more needed.. :D ]

My Nvidia machine just downloaded a ton of WU's. About time, I've been waiting for seti@home to break the 1M point for awhile now. It's falling way behind my other projects.
