Hows' about game fish?

Well the few times I've had a fishing pole, I've only caught bug bites, But then the fish wanted something else I guess.

This morning It's coffee, eggs and sausage for breakfast.

Score one for Bambi.

Much as I like deer, I have spent enough time in Northern Wisconsin to understand how vital deer hunting can be to a rural community. Deer are plentiful in that area and they are an important part of the community diet. I may love my critters, but I'll confess to eating meat and wearing leather shoes. It's "complicated".

In the absence of other predators, it is also important for the deer population.

Indeed it is. I wear leather shoes, but I gave up eating meat a long time ago. Mainly because of inhumane farming practices.

I myself see no need to eat wild meat. I will not eat food that I find cute in its living form, though that is not a moral objection, just a personal one.

Oh, I also hold the unfavorable position of supporting more predators in the wild, and think we have a surplus of joggers. I favor letting them balance each other out ;)

Animals who seem cute, Are still wild animals, Regardless if they eat meat or plants or both, They will attack, As their not tame, Wild Animals see Humans as a threat and have attacked in the past.

I assume Soft Spirit wants the joggers as a food source for big cats?

I will go along with that, especially the ones in lycra.

I eat a lot less meat than I did in recent years, and I still won't eat veal on principle. I know that deer hunting is sometimes necessary for "culling" purposes but I still don't like it and I never will do.

However moving on, How are the Raccoons doing in this January ?

I have enjoyed deer hunting in the past, but not with a gun of any sort. It is much more challenging with a bow and arrow (I never actually got one).

There comes a point, when deer cross a certain line, that they need to be taken down.

Our yellow hammers are back at the bird seed, and there is 3 males and 1 female in the garden (together with numerous sparrows, dunnocks, robins and a green finch. We currently have a large male pheasant tromping around the flower boarders in the back garden.
